The ‘Bush Telegraph’ evokes ideas of writing tools, in both the disjointed burns stoppers and the inkwells themselves. The title refers to an Australian country term for the informal network which spreads news and gossip through regional and rural Australia.
These works playfully interact with each other, collecting and sharing information. Leaning over each other and shuffling away, as they disseminate the myriad tales that wrap the lives of people who are so dependant on each other in country Australia.
