This piece was inspired by a residency at Ironmungie, near the Snowy Mountains. I spent my time carving under a 300-year old Eucalypt tree on this residency. The wind whipped around and bark and leaves fell as I carved. The quiet beauty of the place permeated my making. The title ‘Aeolian’, refers both to the sighing sound the wind made and the sound produced by instruments.
